Mermaid Enterprises was born out of the work Ariel was already doing as she navigated her own career development. Growing up in the service and hospitality industry as a child working in her father’s hotel and later as a means to move around the globe, the importance of authentic communication and the shockingly difficult concept of care has been at the heart of Ariel’s work.

As the daughter of an immigrant, Ariel has always watched the privilege and the art of communication play out in basic, daily interactions. A native of San Francisco, Ariel has spent time in Europe, Hawaii, and Latin America as well as Boston, New York and the Pacific Northwest. Working with many different people across culturally different ecosystems over the many decades that spanned her career, Ariel has nurtured a rich experience on which to develop her practice.

Mermaid Enterprises opened its doors after the 2020 pandemic with the goal of elevating communication to improve relationships in all areas of human interaction.
